Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. We are confident that this move will ensure that we provide the best support possible for our users.

Crossplay? Do you have a like or info or a link on that? I'm very interested on checking that out.

What do you want to know about it? In the server settings you can select to enable steam crossplay or not. If enabled steams clients can join your server also so Xbox and steam can play together. However note that since it is a server with Xbox users on it that it must conform to the Xbox standards so you wont have the full options that you might have on a pc only server. This only applies to Xbox Nitrado servers. Xbox users cannot connect to PC rental servers.

Blackwood is more of the standard Ark type setup with no JSON config since it uses the classic embedded database like ark did. Like i said before the only JSON you should see is just the json file you get from exporting the general settings and that file is only import / export of settings it doesnt inject any non-webui settings which is why you dont see the line for the .ini overrides like you do with a Atlas ocean type server.

The json you downloaded for blackwood is only for the config settings you see in the WebUI. It is the format used for the export import of settings which is great if you have multiple server and want the same settings or want to save settings before game switching. You wont be able to edit stats or other things with blackwood until Nitrado allows either expert settings or and advanced page to set this like they currently do with ark.

Validate your json using an online JSON validator. If you copy direct from site you might have an extra "," at the end or something so always validate.

Opening it up is pending the dev team with the game creator and console platforms to open up more. Also BW was designed as a standalone. Feel free to ask them or even ask the map creator as others have in their discord.

And you can edit the json and increase levels (yes, even blackwood). Someone posted at the official Atlas site they use Nitrado XBox and have increased max players by editing the JSON. Did some quick google searching.

Those familiar with editing the JSON, you have main access on the front page as I call it. You have access to the game.ini here, and the BaseServer Args which is the CLI, and global play to add/edit like powerstone stuff.

Where do we get access to the json with blackwood xbox installed? You can download the config from the general page but all the settings there are what is on the general page json is just the format of the exported settings. I mean i get that might be the case with non-console versions but for console we do not have access to CLI, JSON, or game.ini. They might of edited the max reserved players using JSON with nitrado but that is also available in UI. I would love to be proven wrong but I have also had a support case open where i complain about all this even though i know support cant do anything. Wish they would edit my ini for me though lol.

The other thing to point out is if you are running blackwood and not a cluster/grid you cant edit using json since blackwood uses the more traditional ARK style server setup. Nitrado has no given us access to export mode or even the advanced options where you can add stat per level like you can in Ark. Id love to see stats per level and the experiance override like i can in ark come to Blackwood since it should be the same code for those two things.

im having the same issue i have changed the json confg though but they are not working in game on my blackwood map

Yes if running blackwood you cant edit the json like the wiki shows that is only for ocean type clusters. You can export a json from the general tab but that JSOn just allows you to config what you already see through the webUI. We wont get stats per level until nitrado gives us expert mode or the advanced tab where we can change some of the ini files.

Blackwood is like Ark where there is no "external" database and everything is done using cmd line with server start or .ini files

You still might want to put in a service request if you have not. That way if they need to credit time for the outage or if you are having a different issue they can still check it out.

I had the same bed issue. Being in a company helped and after manually restartng the server all beds magically re-joined the company.

Yeah i am on xbox black wood and I cant enable admin. The box just shows the blank box and admin command like the password is already in. I even try enablecheats mypassword and it doesnt work either. I am not the only one as I see a server owner discord saying the same things.

What is the expert mode and stat config work around? Us Blackwood owners dont even have access to the .ini even though it is some of the same as Ark so should be an easy code change.
