After installing Ark Steam on a Windows system (I use mac osx), it *still* would not connect. So ...

I tried connecting using a proxy, a VPN service. And I connected with no problem (see attached screenshot).

So, doesn't this mean that there is a server-side filter or "blacklist" of some kind that is preventing my real IP address from connecting?

My friend and I have been playing on our MacBooks on the Nitrado server since April, and now *neither* of our computers can connect, nor can a Windows system running on my wifi.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the steam client. Same result.

I registered my server on Arkservers.net. The website shows the server is running (see screenshot).

I spoke with tech support on the telephone, and he was unable to resolve this. The tech said he would give me a new IP address for my server, and see if that changes anything.

I have also uninstalled Ark, deleted the "shooter game.app" file on my hard drive, and have started reinstalling.

I rolled back my config profile to June 17, and then tried again.

Still "Unable to query ..."

I understand that. I am saying that I have the DLC.

I went on Filezilla, and discovered that the Valguero mod -- not the new DLC -- was still listed in the directory:

I deleted that, and PetFinder, and Titanosaur Mod. I also unchecked the Valguero DLC in the Steam properties box.

I tried to connect again via direct connect, and got the same result (fail).

I have already opened a ticket for this, but I have not heard back, yet.

Valguero is listed as a DLC in the "properties" dialogue box on Steam. I can check or uncheck it. Is there a way I can get rid of it, besides unchecking it?

I would prefer to have my mods than have Valguero.

The DLC tab says, "not installed." See attached screenshot.

If I add via "Connect to server" button, the server in the list has a port of 36000. If I add the server manually, I use 36001, but the favorites list still says 36000 (see screenshot).

Since Valguero was released, I cannot get Ark to connect to the Nitrado server. I receive the following messages from the client (see attached screenshots):

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Ark through the Steam client.

I have cycled the Nitrado server on-off-on-off

I have shutdown everything and restarted everything.

I have validated the Ark game files through the Steam client.

I have checked and unchecked the Valguero DLC in the DLC tab of the Steam client "game properties" box.

I have added the Nitrado IP address as a launch option for Ark, and I have removed it.

If I launch Ark from Steam *without* attempting to join Nitrado, and I thereafter click on "Join" in the main menu NO OFFICIAL SERVERS WILL APPEAR. I can find unofficial servers, but no official ones. The list is empty.

I understand that entering

MapPlayerLocation = True

into the gameusersettings.ini file will allow a marker on the map that will give the player location. How do I enter that into the Nitrado server files? The "Engine Settings" page has a "Custom Game.ini Settings" field, but where to I enter a line for gameusersettings.ini?

I can also download settings as a .json file. Should I modify that?
