Hey Guys,
I was looking for a solution for my CrossPlatform Server (Steam + Epic) where people had trouble to connect or couldn't find the Server in the Server list.
I found one and since it's a more common problem than we all like to admit I thought I'd put a little tut down here!
If you're playing ARK with an Epic Games copy and you have you're Server set up as CrossPlatform (Steam + Epic) you can either try to find your server name in the list which for me hasn't worked for me in the past days..
If that's your case too you're not as lucky as the Steam users who can add a Favorite Server to Steam so here's a work around:
If you want to connect to your server from your Epic Games version of ARK, let the players load into a SinglePlayer game first (Character Creation is not important, cause we won't use that one, so skip it).
Than once loaded in open the console (default key is Tab) and type the following:
open IP:PORT
If you use a Password on your server do this:
open IP:PORT Password
So for example if your IP is 238.10.6.2 your connection port is 3000 and your password is "NitradoRulez" it would look like this:
open 238.10.6.2:3000 NitradoRulez
or
open 238.10.6.2:3000 when not using a password.
Then press Enter and it will start to load you into the server if the IP, Port and Password has been correct!
NOTE: The Port number used here is the connection Port NOT the Query Port Number!
I hope this helped you out,
If so go to my Youtube Channel and Sub!
Greetings,
