Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. We are confident that this move will ensure that we provide the best support possible for our users.

Thank you to all members for your continued use of the forum!

    Hi

    In the GamerUserSettings.ini under the section "Server Settings" (if using expert), there is the command

    HarvestAmountMultiplier=

    This governs how much your players harvests when they hit, for example, a tree or when bashing boulders. I know that WC have increased their base rates recently, and so some experimentation is required now. The new base rate is x2.0, so if you had your rates at x3 the WC original default, I guess you'd need to put the value at x1.5 to keep it as you had before. I must admit that I am not entirely convinced that the new WC base defaults have carried over to private servers. I used to use the number of individual stones you picked up from the floor as an indicator as to what your harvest level is at. Apparently that is not reliable anymore as the stone picks ups have been set to one, or so one of the mods seemed to suggest the other day. However, if I set my harvest rate at x2.0, I do in fact pick up two stones. I am a little confused.

    There is also another multiplier

    UseOptimizedHarvestingHealth=true/false

    This is described on the settings wiki as: "optimized" server with high HarvestAmountMultiplier (but less rare items).

    Might be worth checking if you have that set to true (it's also under Server Settings in the GameUserSettings.ini

    From the Wiki:

    Flyer (except Quetzal and Wyvern can't fly with C4 attached to it. Set this parameter to true to let them still fly.

    In other words, if set to FALSE, all flyers, with the exception of Quetzal and Wyvern are grounded if you attach C 4 explosives to them.

    If you set it to TRUE, all flyers can fly if they have C4 attached to them.

    I'll ask the most obvious question first :)

    1. Are you looking under the correct section on the server list page? (PvE or PvP)

    2. Does your server have a password? If ti does, then ensure the "Password Protection" option is checked on the server list page, (or unchecked if server has no password).

    3. Have you selected "Unofficial PC Sessions" from the drop down list on the server listing page?

    Nitrado directed me here. I hope someone can help

    Nitrado support directed you here? I thought they were support, not an information redirection service. What's the point of submitting a support ticket if they just tell you to go to the forum?

    Saying that, though. I guess it's a problem for WC if their code is not working, not Nitrado, as I assume they just supply the server.

    Hi

    Before I submit a support request, I thought I'd come here to see if it's a known current issue.

    I have just tried to increase the number of slots on one of my servers from 10 to 20, via the Xbox Nitrado app. However, all I am getting are options to increase the number of days, all with just ten slots. Why can I not increase my slot count?

    Thank you.

    So I tried it again.

    I stopped my server and waited 15 minutes. I then made the changes, that is adding the lines:

    PlayerCharacterHealthRecoveryMultiplier=1.0

    DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier=1.0

    DinoCharacterHealthRecoveryMultiplier=1.0

    DinoCharacterStaminaDrainMultiplier=1.0

    DinoCountMultiplier=1.0

    ResourcesRespawnPeriodMultiplier=1.0

    I saved and then waited another 15 minutes before restarting my server. An hour later I checked the settings on my expert settings, and again those values have disappeared from my settings.

    I can only assume they are superfluous to the requirements of the server. I am wondering whether it's worth submitting a ticket to support to see if it's something that is wrong, or if it ins, indeed, working as intended.

    Interestingly the following added lines remain in situ:

    PlayerCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier=0.5

    PlayerCharacterStaminaDrainMultiplier=0.5

    PlayerCharacterWaterDrainMultiplier=0.5

    It seems to me the influx of lots of new servers resulting from the release of Crystal Isles on console, is causing problems with Nitrado servers. I am sure it will be remedied very soon.

    one more question. Does it matter what line I put things on? I know it says under the heading but can I put other settings at the bottom of all the already entered "base" data? I'm afraid I will enter something on the wrong line number

    I had this question too. I wanted all the individual values to be listed in alphabetical order, just so that it would be easier to find them at any time, (I too am learning expert settings). After some investigative experimentation, I found that it does not appear to matter what order the commands go in, so long as they are under the correct section, such as "server settings". I have mine in alphabetical order and things seem to work just fine.

    I found expert settings to be extremely frustrating at first, but I am glad I stuck with it, as you get a lot more customisation available to you.

    Hi

    On Xbox

    I have noticed that when I place the following code into the Game User Settings [Server Settings] of my expert server settings, the server keeps removing them once the server is restarted and played:

    PlayerCharacterHealthRecoveryMultiplier

    DinoCharacterFoodDrainMultiplier

    DinoCharacterHealthRecoveryMultiplier

    DinoCharacterStaminaDrainMultiplier

    DinoCountMultiplier

    ResourcesRespawnPeriodMultiplier

    Yet, according to the Ark server configuration site (https://ark.gamepedia.com/server_configuration), these settings are available to be put into the Game User Settings ini.

    If these settings keep being deleted by the server once the server is played, then how on earth can I change any of those settings, such as if I wanted to increase/decrease the number of wild dinos being spawned?

    Thank you.

    This is how I gain access to my admin panel when I am playing on my server. This is on Xbox.

    Go to the pause menu. Simultaneously press LB+RB+X+Y to pull up the admin bar. If you play on PC then you'll have a different key combination to call up the admin bar.

    Type in server password and enter.

    I can now type in commands/cheats into the server admin

    Hi

    On my PvE server I have the following values set, governing the destroying of structures:

    PvEStructureDecayPeriodMultiplier=2.0

    AutoDestroyOldStructuresMultiplier= 1.0 (The Auto Destroy Structures option is ticked)

    I wanted to double the default time that structures last. For example, I wanted thatch structures to last 8 days before they were “Demolish Allowed”.

    But I also wanted auto decay to kick in after the same time interval (thatch = 8 days).

    With the settings above, when I looked at another player’s thatch hut that he had built, it said Demolish in 8 days, which is what I wanted.

    That was 4 days ago. Today, I noted that the auto decay had kicked in too soon, after only 4 days.

    I assume I have my the multipliers above incorrectly set.

    My question is, what values do I need to use to have the auto decay and the Demolish Allowed values to be the same (8 days for thatch)?

    Thank you.

    Correct. Any time the core of the game changes, you will have to adjust your servers.

    If it is an event though, just deactivate the event. In this case, this would not apply being its core change.

    Thank you DOAGEN. I will check this out on my servers and adjust accordingly, once my 30GB update has downloaded and installed.

    I have heard that the new x1 will actually be x2 due to the increase. Are you asking whether the x1 on private servers will reflect WC's new x1 (which is actually x2)? I have been wondering this myself. I am not sure if WC will just set it at x2 as default, but without relabelling it as x1.

    I have been keeping an eye on my harvest rates on my test server. I have it set to x2, which I can verify when I pick up random stones. At the moment, every time I pick up a stone it says "2x stone". I am wondering if it will start picking up x4 stones when the new WC harvest rates kick in.
