How can I add Epic Games Players to the whitelist of my server?

Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. We are confident that this move will ensure that we provide the best support possible for our users.

Thank you to all members for your continued use of the forum!

Assistance with all questions concerning your Nitrado service can now be found in these spots:

    1. First, remove any password/whitelist settings from your server so that anyone may join.
    2. Have your friends join the server and play normally for about 15 minutes, then disconnect. (Not sure if necessary, the point of this is to make sure the server creates a save profile of their character)
    3. Go to the File Browser for your server under Tools in the sidebar of the Nitrado web interface.
    4. Go to the "arkse/ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks" directory.
    5. Copy the filenames of all the files with the ".arkprofile" extension. These are the IDs of the players who joined your server, converted into a numerical that is cross-platform compatible.
    6. Paste these IDs into the whitelist section of the general server settings, Player-Whitelist (or Exclusive Join) sections of the configuration page.
    7. Save the config and restart the server.
    8. Re-enable password/exclusive join and have your players try to login.

I tried it... but it doesnt work.. it said "No Player name was found based on this ID"...

  • Same situation here. It seems that Nitrado's server "Players Control" section is unable to handle correctly the newest wave of Epic Games Ark users.

While trying to add players to any list (white/ban), all it does is show message "Can't look up player name to ID". And resets admin selection after the refreshing of "Player Control" page. Worth to mention that the ID's are added according to the forementioned method, in cross-platform compatible format.

Please solve it quickly, there are masses of new Epic Games players, with no way to use Whitelist, its impossible to sort authorized players out.

  • This is an easy solution. There is an admin panel in game. turn cheats on, then type ShowMyAdminManager you can then see the names and id's

With your friends online, you can white list them. I then took my id and my friends, then added them to the exclusive join. Once I had everyone, I turned the excusive join option and it's worked until my server broke last night during the update like others.

  • Thanks for the suggestions, will try enabling "exclusive join" after obtaining full list of player ID's. Do I require additional txt file for that? Whats the procedure?

And if not by additional txt, exclusive join by simply whitelisting thru Player Control and setting the server to only allow whitelisted players will be possible after the procedure gets less fibble. For now still got "Can't look up player name to ID" message while trying to add player to whitelist (or any other list). Whitelisting while in game results in adding the player to all three lists (white, admin, ban) simultaneously - at least that is what my Player Control section is showing. Attempts to turn other lists (ban, admin) selections off results in aforementioned message and resetting my adjustments.
