  • Nitrados DDoS protection... does it even exist? I run a community of 11 nitrado servers, with a total slot count of 660, these servers have filled for months and continue to fill but suffer because lack of ddos protection on the hosting end meaning nitrado themselves.

    My community and many others suffer greatly due to our success and popularity on this game as unofficial servers, i have seen many servers fall because of ddosing and mine is not far off.


    ARK ddosing has been in the game since the start, and nothing is still yet to be done, i have seen no mitigation to counter ddoses on my cluster ever and iv been with nitrado for over 6 months, and have always had multiple servers and running hundreds of players. I have made half a dozen tickets in the last week alone about ddos attack reports and needing help and even offering money to be added to any form of high mitigation servers, and i'm still yet to get anything back or have anything done about..


    I have posted screenshots below of evidence of clear ddos/dos attacks, i also have a discord which has 7.2k members and iv been around this long enough to know a ddos from some dino lag or harvesting. I have also had 2 or 3 machine transfers across all 11 servers i own and the issue is still happening which proves it isn't the players.

    I have attached photos below showing half my cluster being ddosed within less than a 2 hour span in one singular screenshot (keep in mind this is only today, i'm not showing pictures from any date other than today 5/4)

    I also understand you and your community's frustration with the ddos attacks. Have you tried to call during the open phone hours or reaching out via Skype to support?

    I have called 2 times alone today, and in the past week a dozen times+, nothing ever happens they move my machine and it fixes for 15minutes till the ddoser get the new IP. And it repeats the same process and im getting sick of it.

  • Hello, I have been around the iced cluster for around 15 seasons now, DURING all 15 seasons there has been Ddos in the servers. This doesn’t only hurt our cluster but it also hurts your profits. As a cluster pays alot of money for the services that are provided and I feel as if the services provided are only half of what they should be. Endless tickets, endless calls and nothing is ever resolved. The server is being ddosed everyday and you guys are aware. We understand that it takes time to analyze the attacks but this is beginning to be outrageous. We have provided every form of proof that should be needed all for a representative to tell us that it’s a mass breeding issue or something else that isn’t even possible with the current server settings. We as players pay for your services and your support and it would be amazing to receive some assistance with this. (Please do not delete this post like you did the previous one.)

  • I have been playing iced for a while and I can say that about 6 or so seasons ago ddos became a huge problem and caused many people to quit and caused people to delete the game because the servers were getting ddosed and caused them not to be able to play the servers. Many people have ddosed to piss of community members and a few people ddos to protect their base from getting wiped and it really demotivates many people from playing. People ddosed Iced servers last season before it wiped when only like 10 people played but the reason only ten people played because with in the first week from 1 am to 6 am est someone would ddos the server so no one could play. The beginning of this season servers were capped for hours now their are like never capped plus almost every day people ddos for like 5 to 7 hours in a course of 24 hours. All of the ddos that happens on these servers ruins their seasons and ruins the fun for people. Plus people stop donating for these servers sometimes because they don't know if the server will get ddos and they loss their items or anything because or if the ddos will screw them over also these servers that have high pop would most likely want to spend money on better protection but if it actually worked and prevented ddos. (Please do not delete this post like you did the previous one.) ps. Iced has had the machine moved up many times but has never helped.

  • Its got to a point where you start to play the game, and for the first 2 minutes you may not be lagging, next thing you know your rubber banding, the server is at 255, and that there just ruins the playing experience that was provided by your part, I feel that as these server have gained their fame, its only reasonable to protect them against ddos attacks. With that being said, this issue only became a real problem for the past 6-7 seasons, and this season being the worst, its been day after day of constant 255 and its making people quit the game and not just the server, this issue needs to be fixed.

    This current ark season and seasons before have been so frustrating for everyone. All six of our server's have been under attack from Ddoss and at 255 ping 24/7. It's unbelievable that Nitrado expects Ice to pay for Ddoss protection but doesn't receive any in the long run, It's kind of historical. We need Ddoss protection it's coming to the point to where It's almost impossible to play on and as well as the fact it's not fun to play on because of the 255 ping. All the #ICED community asks for is some Ddoss protection.

    I wouldn't be replying if I didn't enjoy , but the doss ruins it it has to be one of my favorite nitrado hosted servers but doesn't get any justice from the dossers. ICED tries his best but when he has to go out his way to make forum posts its really annoying and honestly puts a bad name on your behalf I'm sure your busy especially around these strange times but please just spare a though for us.     I'd like to reassure you that customer support is doing everything they can for your cluster, we sympathise with your position, nobody likes DDoSers getting away with anything, this is why we built our own DDoS protection. Nitrado has a solution for your issue and are making sure it's implemented. I'm sure IcedCluster will be able to update you all within your community on that soon.


    Regarding the thread moderation wise:

    There was 2 deleted posts, 1 deleted post which I've restored and 1 that was deleted and remains deleted because it's not relevant to the topic of the thread (Complaining about a warning). Meanwhile as there's been no offensive language or derogatory comments towards eachother or Nitrado's staff/ forum volunteers and so long as the thread stays friendly that way, I'm happy to keep it open. :)

  • Considering iv lost over 400 players in 4 days due to 24/7 crashing, roll backs, servers being unplayable for hours at a time and or, servers crashing and shutting down all night. I really don't think i have a community anymore considering i had 660 total players but i guess that's just an irrelevant number at this point.

  • The iced servers are really dying from ddoss every 2hours the server crashes and don’t come up for ages the ddoss protection would save the population of the iced cluster a lot but we can’t keep lifting iced servers forever We are not doing it for free anymore
