No Whitelist Option (PS4)

Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. • Hi

According to your wiki page (https://wiki.nitrado.net/en/managing_players_on_your_nitrado_ark_server_(console)) I should see various actions available to me on my player control menu. Actions such as whitelist. But the only option I see is ban. Why can I not whitelist players on PS4, when, according to the aforementioned wiki page, I should be able to?

    Many thanks.

    Myrm

I am currently employed as one of Emperor Palpatine's Imperial Royal Guard (Yinchorr Academy - Class of 2019).

  • Was just trying to look into this myself as I have a cluster of servers that are password protected and want to make it easier to transfer between them. But don't want to let it be a free for all and let randoms be able to join the server. Hopefully someone can shed some light

  • I’ve also came here looking for this info.

Have a Nitrado ark server (PS4) and looking to add more and cluster them but just discovering you can’t password protect them is REALLY putting us off.

from what I can understand there is little Nitrado can do about it and you just have to ‘monitor’ your server and manually look out for unwanted users joining.

is there an easy way to see player names that have connected to the server somewhere or is the only way catching them online in the connected players list?

it would be nice/smart if Nitrado could create some kind of system outside of Ark where you could enter your Whitelisted players ID’s and you get a simple notification or email alert if anyone who isn’t white listed joins. That would at least take the worry out of constantly monitoring/checking the player list

  • not to mention actually making the tools they do have for seeing and banning players actually work. I tried to ban a player and realized only myself and one other individual who have played on the server (an admin) even show up in ANY of the player lists, on or offline, even though I consistently have four other people who are on my server EVERY night. One of which is another admin. The admin who does show up on the list has his account set to show offline, I do not, and neither does the other admin who isn't on the list. So...what exactly is the criteria nitrados is using to "detect" online players? Since even the ones who are on the server don't show up on the list regardless of online status? The only thing me and the other admin have in common is that he is my fiancee, and we were on the server the very day we set it up, whereas the others were not. Which..if that's the criteria, the player list is utterly useless for console players, and you can't manually add playstation gamertag to the list, and even if they did show up, you can't whitelist them. WTH, nitrado?

  • This is not something we can adapt yet. Studio Wildcard would have to make this technically possible, which unfortunately is not the case yet.

Any update on the status of whitelists from Wild Card?
