Teleporting between servers, and how it works in my application

    My friends and I have rented a 10 slot server. We made it password protected so all of us can play and have fun on our own discretion. We've been wanting to do the end game content, and i've been researching a lot of these tek engrams as the reward for being triumphant in boss fights.


    Me, being new to this game, i saw you can only earn specific tek engrams per map, designated via boss drops. The only way to attain all tek engrams is to bounce between maps/servers via the tek teleport.


    I'd love for my friends and i to achieve the ultimate end game! Which is to earn all these engrams. My question is, how do we adjust ourselves to do this? I saw in recent discussions; If we make a Tek Teleport, to make the teleport public. Would we have to adjust our server settings to non-password protected? Should we consider upgrading the server slot capacity? What if we encounter players that are giving us grief in a server we pay for?


    I'd appreciate any information regarding my concerns and questions. Thank you! (Also further apologies if any answers arise any new questions, i'd like all the information i can to fully enjoy ark without dedicating my time to an official server.)

    Answering specifically the questions...


    Q: Which is to earn all these engrams. My question is, how do we adjust ourselves to do this?

    A: You can either Cluster Servers with different Maps, or add the ini code to unlock them at a certain level. You can find that code by searching here in the forum, google or the ARK wiki.


    Q: Would we have to adjust our server settings to non-password protected?

    A: Technically you can lock, BUT it is suggested and recommended not to lock. It is known to possibly cause character and game issues. If you unlock/lock it is a risk either way.


    Q: Should we consider upgrading the server slot capacity?

    A: If you plan on opening to the public, I would only increase the slots if you want. And only do that as needed. Hopefully in the future the whitelist will work fully.


    Q: What if we encounter players that are giving us grief in a server we pay for?

    A: That is the responsibility of the Server Owner and its Admins. You will need to be active in order to prevent issues. It will always happen. Just have to do the best you can.

    DOAGEN Thanks for the information!! I'll look into that cluster server option, the question is how to get it set up. My friends and i are willing to pitch in for more map servers. Also i'd like to know what the whitelist is and (if it does work on xbox) how to set that up. We will expand our server admin count if we do end up wanting to make it public to ban people.
