Definitely not a stupid question. When it comes to renting server there is no limit on how few you can have on it. You can however rent server with different total amount. They have 10 person server upwards of 100. All at different prices of course. With PC servers are you running it through steam or windows 10?

I just ordered a server, waiting for it to install, is it easy to put a password on our server then? Or will it always be open to public?
Very easy to password protect it. It's a few options down on the interface
Thanks again! Only problem Im having is some of the options I have selected in the server setting page aren't working. For example, the "Show Players on Map" option is checked, but nothing shows on the map at all. Would I need to restart the server for them to be enabled after hitting save settings?
Yes any changes you make you should always restart the server for them to take effect
