Ark Difficulty level

    Hi, I have tried changing the difficulty offset of my ark server and it doesn't seem to be changing I've given the server 12 hours to update the difficulty level however nothing has changed I'm not sure what I've done wrong for this to happen the difficulty offset was changed from 0.5 to 2 with the override changed from 1 to 0 could anyone help me solve this issue?

    I have tried that command they re spawn at the same level for the 0.5 difficulty. I have also tried restarting every couple of hours over 15 hours and even stopping and starting nothing has seemed to work. I am really confused with this as I've tested on singleplayer the 2 difficulty on the island should be spawning 150 dinos.

    if it worked then why am i angry and not having the problem fixed why is every single dino under level 10 why is every alpha lvl 1 or 3? why is nothing above lvl 30? its been almost 20 minutes now i still dont see anything higher if it worked then why cant i do the same thing as him and see similar results? why does click the wiki say if i want 150 dinos i have to put these numbers in and some people say dinos will spawn at increments of 5 and now your says im still going to see lvl 1 dinos? whats the truth?

    But that line you quoted from the official wiki does not say that the dinos will spawn increments of 5. The legend of those figures is as follows:


    1.2857 = The Island

    1 = The Centre

    1 = Ragnarok

    1 = Valguero

    5.0 = Difficulty Value

    150 = Maximum Creature Level

    500% = Loot scale


    I can't see anywhere where it says you will only see levels in increments of 5. Where does it say that? I am not saying you're wrong, I am simply asking where you got that information as I am interested. I have my settings at 1.2857 and 5.0, and I am sure I still level the occasional level 1 and 2 dinos.


    Yes, there is the note below that values table that says:


    Medium Difficulty, where Creatures spawn at a level range of 5-150...


    But that is referring to Ark Mobile.

    my brain hurts im tired im frustrated ive been googling since 9 pm its 12:31 am.
    all dinos are spawning under level 30,
    i understand high level dinos are rare. but can something anything even a fish please be above 50? no it can not.
    im sorry for my anger i really am
    this seems like a simple fix i stop server change settings save settings start server and it should be fixed but its not
    i was having 110 spawn when i first got the server and i never touched the settings it was all regular stock settings that you get when you buy the server hell even alphas were spawning at level 80 to 100....... why cant they do that now? after i changed the settings to remove 120 as the max level? it feels like the levels were lowered....
    i changed the settings to Difficulty 5 Offset 1.2875

    i start the server now nothing will spawn above 30.

    why?

    I see up to level 150 dinos (180 for Tek dinos) with these settings.



    Not trying to be condescending here, but you don't have the two values mixed up do you? You've not put


    DifficultyOffset=5.0


    Overrideofficialdifficulty=1.2857


    I am not sure how that would affect things, if that was the case.




    If you are using expert settings, then recommended instructions are to stop the server, wait 5 minutes, make the changes to the settings, save, wait a further 5 minutes, then restart server. Once in the game you can use the destroywilddinos command to remove all dinos, and they will gradually spawn back in. (You can also opt for the Destry wild dinos settings on your server settings, which is an option that runs once at the next server restart.)

    I seriously feel so stupid right now how the heck did i get these backwards?
    stopping server and swtiching settings now
    the reason i couldnt find my issues is cus i made my own issue by switching those numbers .-.
