open positions @ Nitrado
  • Hey guys,

Resorting to the thread for opinions and suggestions since no one has replied to any of my tickets.

My server has high CPU usage. Idling at 88% with only one user online. One of my players who I have granted access rights to noted that not only does the server crash multiple times throughout the night, but when it crashes, it is going above 90% CPU. We have tried customizing the ini and doing other things in high hopes this would fix the issue. He decided to test something and opened his own server through a different host with my same exact settings/mods and his server is only at 4% CPU.

** Make note my server is Ark Genesis and has 10 slots. Usually only about 3-5 people one at a time, sometimes more.

** Also note my admin created a test server through a different host with my exact mods, settings, etc., and the CPU is only 4% with no crashing. This leaves me to believe it is Nitrado-side.

My players and myself are starting to get really frustrated at this point. I don't necessarily want to switch from Nitrado, but so far we are getting no answers from the staff team. I have reached out via tickets and Twitter.

I'm really hoping one of you may have some tips. I truly and greatly appreciate all in advance.

  • I can give you one tip, dont waste more money on these guys.

The last time I hosted through Nitrado was a decent experience. I was having issues with Survival Servers and decided I had enough, so I switched to Nitrado. Unfortunately I’m getting to this point again, definitely since I haven’t heard back yet. I don’t want to change because I like all their features but will if this isn’t fixed.

  • When Genesis Released our Cluster started crashing and users were unable to reconnect due to connection timeout. There was a pinned message above all of my servers saying there has been problems, they're aware of them and they'll be fixed. I clicked the notify me button and told our cluster the bad news. just wait i said. Eventually i saw the warning went away. well, they didn't notify me.. but at least its fixed. Nah ,Kept getting these crash logs and kept waiting for the solution to be rolled out. And finally after days of waiting i submitted a ticket after being directed by a forum mod here. This took another few days but they said it was fixed and I'm all good. Cool! And it was, for like 30 hours. Now i'm getting Crash B and its been like 2 weeks of not being able to use a service I'm paying for. I'm burnt out. guess Ill put in another ticket

  • 8 hours ago I reset my server for some changes. It's gotten stuck on shutting down, but server is offline and it hasn't moved from that phase (amber)

I ticketed which I got a auto response in seconds saying they're aware of issues, and this is a ongoing complaint and may take a while, but will be sorted ASAP.

However 8 hours passed, situation is still the same.

No update on the progress being made or when it will be fixed. Got a feeling it's gonna take beyond 24 hours to fix it.

I mean I've seen people complaining for a week now about the same issue, no update on if their situations got resolved.

As a server renter, got players hounding me when the server will be up, I can't give them a response as I don't know.

Could Nitrado issue a statement or estimated time to everyone on here about the problem and when we should expect it fixed.

  • Yeah, this has been an ongoing issue for well over a week. Got a BS automated response today as well. It was about problems with starting and restarting Ark servers, WHICH is NOT my issue. My issue is high CPU and crashing. The message opted if it wasn't my issue, to send back "OTHER" which I did. Waiting for a response. I'm really getting fed up. The lack of communication is what is frustrating. I'm chill with the issues and them trying to work on it. I get it. But no communication? Sigh.

  • Could Nitrado issue a statement or estimated time to everyone on here about the problem and when we should expect it fixed.

Check the announcements on the forums page, there is a big post about it, I think the name of it was "ARK Concerns" or something.

Still, I support your argument, we should at least have something to tell our player-base. I only have 4 people (plus me, so 5) to be responsible of in my game at the moment, but if I were to think big and consider getting a larger server for a larger player number, I would remember these days when shopping for servers, so it is indeed an important factor to remain in touch with your customers and make them feel the support is actually there.

    Fingers crossed man, we're waiting.

  • I am experiencing the same issue. I put in a ticket when this first started happening a couple of days ago and had only an auto-response about servers having trouble restarting. My is having trouble NOT restarting haha. Has anyone had a resolution for this issue?

My resolution is switching server hosts.

  • At least you people are getting a canned reply. I haven't seen one yet 27 hours, too a different issue. (Server has to be stopped and restarted several times a day if no one is on-line for a few hours for it to show in-game browser.)

I did notice today game ping of no less than 75 and mostly 150+. Went in to Nitrado web interface saw 88% CPU with only myself on-line, yet the Farming Simulator Dedicated web interface graph sowed less than 25% CPU.

So a little poking around in the Nitrado interface and I found that I was on the LA cluster. Moved it BACK to NY, we'll see if that helps.

  • I called them today and they were able to see that the shared host my server was on was full according to them and transferred my server to different "hardware". I assume these are virtual machines filling up hosts. Either way, after doing that, it's now running fine without crashing. I steadily have high CPU showing on the server, but I would expect them to try and maximize the resources available. Either way, the phone support guy was really nice and helpful and I'm crossing our fingers for no more crashes.
