I'm looking into renting a server for me and a few friends but at the moment I play on windows 10 and my friends are on xbox do these servers support this, I've downloaded the app but all I can see is ark Xbox or ark PC (think this is the steam version)

you can play on the xbox version as the windows and xbox version are both the same things. When you purchase a server it is for one server. you can change maps whenever you'd like. If you stay on one map too long it may overwrite the older ones. If you want to make a cluster you will need to purchase more servers.

Its 1 map per server, if you change maps you wont have anything to transfer over. You'll be starting fresh.
