Cant find a rust forum so im posting here, need help with Rcon tool

Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. We are confident that this move will ensure that we provide the best support possible for our users.

Thank you to all members for your continued use of the forum!

Assistance with all questions concerning your Nitrado service can now be found in these spots:

  • Title pretty much says the most of it. I have a Rust server that i want to add an Rcon to so i can use plugins and make it more fun for the low pop server. However no matter what i do, what i try, and where i look i can not make it connect or find info on how to fix it. The Rcon just refuses to connect. Ive tried everything and the fact i cant find answers or even see whats wrong on what end is making me quite furious. Please someone, anyone, help me solve this issue. I know im not the only one who's had this problem before.

  • Make sure the RCON password is set correct. (Just to make sure, set a new one and save it => restart the server afterwards)

Install Umod on your server (previously known as oxide). I've always done it manually via FTP and never via the webinterface. (I just don't know which version the checkbox in the webinterface installs)

Just download umod (Windows version) and upload the files to the server matching the existing server structure. => restart the server.

Download RustAdmin (RCON client) and enter the data for your server.

    RCON Type WebRcon

    Your Server IP
    Server Port (28015)
    RCON Port (28025)
    Your RCON Password

Save the configuration and connect to your server. Keep in mind, the server startup is quite slow. It can take up to 10 minutes (from my experience)

Thats it, Umod should be installed and working.

    No support via PM.

Important: Mods here in the forum do not have access to your services. If we advise you to contact the support, you have to create a ticket or call them. There is nothing we can do.

  • i would also recommend the devs ad a native console to the web interface. when it comes to administrating an rcon can only be so helpful. being that there is information that the native console will show that does not make it to the rcon program.
