Server not listing, S+?

Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

Therefore, we inform you that the Nitrado Forum will be closed on March 31, 2023. We are consolidating our community support to our Discord channel, which is faster and more efficient. We have also seen incredible growth in our community due to the hard work of our moderators and our bots. We are confident that this move will ensure that we provide the best support possible for our users.

  • Hello,

I made a ticket to support 3 days ago but no answer.

Let me explain: There was the update of ARK, the 300.5 so the server restarted. Can not find it in the server list. I tried everything, to connect to it via Nitrado: The server does not answer. I removed all mods and miracle, the server is visible. I handed them one by one, until I found the culprit: Structure plus. So I asked the forums, the structure +, here, ARK discussion forums etc to realize that some players have the same concerns as me, and they are on Nitrado. According to the forum ark, there would be a problem with the mods at Nitrado, in the sense that they are a copy and not taken at the source, the workshop. Which would pose the concern.

in addition, I just take a server Nitrado to test, (take my money), and there the more structure works. I made a complete reinstallation of my server, 2 times, uninstalled all the mods and put back, and still the same problem, if there is more structure in my list, it's I do not see my server. An idea ? Because here I dry, it's been 3 days that I'm working on it and I'm running out of patience.

I want to clarify that I even tried to install the mod via the file ini, select it in those proposed below by Nitrado, I deleted it from my pc, unsubscribed from the workshop, in short, I really everything tried. And even with the reinstallation of the server, it does not work.

  • I have 3 ARK servers with lots of mods, including S+ with zero issues. Sounds more like a corrupted file- js. And that can happen to any of us at any time sadly. And then we have to start over. :( Thankfully in 3yrs I have only had to do that 2x.

You can also from the WebUI force the mod to reload/reinstall. You dont have to remove modID, restart, add modID, restart. Although you can if force update fails.

Changed the title of the thread from “Mon serveur n'apparaît pas dans la liste” to “Server not listing, S+?”.
  • This is happening to my server too, the support team keep closing my ticket and I keep on opening it... I have done testing and its def the s+ mod and yes I believe its a corrupted file, though I think those files are centrally cached, probably for multiple servers, hence not everyone is seeing the error.

Full support request below so you can see how rude they are!!

    They replied with this:

    My reply:

    Code
    1. I tried this and it did not work. Same issue, and I definitely updated the .mod file. I only have access to the .mod file, the directory does not exist for any of the mods on the Nitrado server.
    2. Also I don't think this is a mod update issue, this mod has not been updated for 6 months.
    3. There was a server update recently that did cause problems to s+ but not like this, just some individual items not working.
    4. I believe this is a Nitrado only issue, perhaps to do with caching.

Then they started giving me generic replies:

    My reply:

Then they closed my ticket twice (marked as resolved), and I keep opening it again!

    Code
    1. A mistake was made by your systems, this issue is not resolved. Many thanks.
    Code
    1. Why does this keep being set as solved? It is not solved, please advise.

    Thats it, all I have.

There is def an S+ issue, my testing confirms this.

As I suspected this doesn't apply to all Nitrado customers, or we would hear way more about it. I think its only a handful of the newer servers effected, probably all use the same caching or something.

Hope this helps someone or gets Nitrado support to stop closing my calls without being resolved!

  • Hello,

But they are correct- Hosting companies do not support mods, just the hardware in which they sit on.

All they can check is to see if the HW is running fine, IE: CPU, base game and RAM. Corrupted gamefiles and mods is the administrators area of support.

It is one of the reasons why this forum exists, it is a Community Support Forum where you and others may share stuff.

If the gamefile is truly corrupt, their is no way to 'fix' it. Also the Game devs do have a recommended build for things and at times folks go over that limit. Personally, I would never run 42 mods on an ARK server. While green mods are stackable, yellow are not. Also mods on top of mods and some that may be out of date can cause errors at any time.

I suspect that is why the ticket is getting closed, they have checked HW.

Another thing you could try and I have done it...

Backup the entire gamefolder to your PC. This is a FULL backup and then some.

Now go to the server, do a full reinstall from scratch. Note: this will also delete all saves in the WebUI.

Set your webUI setting up as what you had before.

Once the game is reloaded, install some mods. I would do maybe 5-6 at a time. save, then restart. Check to see if it appears on the list.

Do this for the rest of the mods in small batches.

Once you have ALL mods, and you can see the server (honestly, id connect to test.

If that all passes, try now doing a recovery of the gamefile in FTP.

I have had ARK servers nearly 4yrs, and with and without mods. Once a mod causes an issue, your kinda screwed.

Sorry. I hope my idea works. Its a risk to you, but at least you have a backup in an event you have to start all the way back again.

Visit the Wiki how to restore gaemfiles from FTP if you are not familiar with that process.

  • Hey Doagen, thanks for the reply.

The problem did turn out indeed to be the Nitrado server.

    Replies and fix below.

Their reply carrying on from above:

I have been testing this out all day and apart from a slight hiccup at the beginning with me re-installing ARK on the Nitrado server all is going well, so I have just replied with this:

    Code
    1. Thank you very much. Although this did not work at first, I performed a RE-INSTALL and then set it up with the previous settings using my locally saved files.
    2. It now works with no problems, thank you for looking into this.
    3. Just to note, I did actually uninstall the games a few times previous to this support request, to try and resolve the problem myself. I definitely got moved to a new IP address at least once, maybe twice. This may have been on the same machine though, but I thought I would let you know as your solution was to move server.

Anyway all is good, and I think the moral of the story is do your homework, prove as much as you can, provide evidence and be persistent if you are sure you are correct. I knew this was not a software or configuration issue, or I would never have raised the call in the first place. I do however understand that not many people are as thorough as me and that some will probably send a support call at the drop of a hat.

That's always a good idea to do your homework before asking for a help/support. You should make sure your issue hasn't been solved earlier and it makes perfect sense.

  • Hi, i had the same problem on an private server and this solved the problem thank you
