Note: Please read all below and take note of the information provided. New posts being made in the forums will have a link posted back to here.
These information below has been provided to you in hopes to explain, and explain the 'Unable to find my server' questions. This topic is the biggest one.
We hope this helps. Thank you.
ARK: Survival Evolved's in-game server list only shows around ~4,500 servers, which are randomly selected. Steam's own server list is somehow also limited to around ~4,500 servers, but it's possible to query every ARK server through the favorites tab. Also, servers from Nitrado (Default named "nitrado.net Gameserver") appear in both the ARK and Steam server list. Because of this, we know this not to be an issue on our side, but on the ARK and Steam developer's end.
This has also been discussed in the official steam discussion in over 3,000 posts which you can find here:
Unfortunately, ARK's implemented server list lacks functions such as adding you own servers or directly connecting to a known IP address. We hope that the developers of ARK: Survival Evolved will make some advanced connection features for their server browser in the future. In the meantime, It is possible to connect to an ARK server using various other methods, further explained in our official Wiki.
Currently your ARK: Survival Evolved game server is started and reachable. If you are unable to connect to your Gameserver in-game, I'd recommend reading our official tutorial, explaining the required steps:
Connect to an ARK: Survival Evolved server
How to Connect to PS 4 Server for ARK Survival Evolved
Connect to a Xbox Nitrado ARK: Survival Evolved Server
Other known issues-
Check your server name and don't use special characters.
Check your server name so its not too long.
**"take note of primitive plus instructions"**
PC: the best way is a Direct Connect, or joining with a steam friend when they are on. Once they do this is appears in the survivor filter, then you can make a favorite.
PS4/Xbox have their own issues. I know that Ps4 and Xbox does have their listing issues. Some of the problems are folks with long server names, or Server names and MOTDs using invalid characters.
Make sure you're putting the query port rather than the port with the IP
So if it is 20015 for example for port you'll need it to be 20016
It's +1 the original value
This is only my own experience and knowledge I've experienced.
Its for sure a problem with servers being listed. My PC servers takes nearly 20m to pop up 'if' they even show up.
If you are still having issues please visit the Wiki for additional connection info. And if that fails, please submit a ticket to Nitrado Support. thank you.
