Alright so first things first i have noticed after the 1.05 update i have not noticed any messages come accross my server that worked before switching to 1.05 update on my server. Second i am looking for help regarding messages for server restarts. I am hoping that there is a way to have timed count downs like on official public servers. i have tried several formats using the countdown and deadline commands but just have not found it to work yet.

OK might have just finally noticed why no messages are working. at the top it no longer gives the complete version on your first line. I changed it so now it states "version 1.05."
I noticed that it was only "version 1.0"
whether or not my new format for the server restart messages will work i don't know yet but will keep you updated. if it works i will reply with the format i used if anyone would like to use it as well.

How did you get on with this?

so i finally got me server message to work, unfortunately it had nothing to due with the 1.05 side versus 1.0 like i thought. I had to take a defualt message configuration file and start fresh from that. Why me other files was not working i don't know. I have again tried to write messages to display when server will restart but have had no such luck. Tried one more variation today but will not know until either i get on or someone else plays and answers wether or not all messages are active.... we will see

The first part in the file is the server restart command. It will display a count down in game. You just have to put in with minutes when you want the server to reset.
This is what mine looks like. I have it for 3 hours until BI fixes the stupid desync. Your message needs to be in between the <text> </text> part. Make sure you have the other server restart default deleted. It's under automated tasks I believe.
<message>
<deadline>180</deadline>
<shutdown>1</shutdown>
<text>***SERVER RESTART*** in #tmin Minutes.</text>
</message>

So does that 180 repeat or for every 3 hours do you have to add the minutes up to match you restart intervals. also does the <deadline>180<deadline> start from server 0000 time. Also does having it at 3 hour restart time eliminate desync issues, if it does i need to adjust my restarts...
Right now my server restarts at 0200, 0600, 1000, 1400, 1800, 2200 hours... Using the automatd tasks. So would i just right the deadlines as to match those hours?
for instance for 0200 hours would i write it as / then 1400?

Yes, once server restarts it will reset the countdown at 180. Once you do that you never have to mess with it again. And yes if there are desync issues and I'm not around to be able to reset server it will reset it self every 3 hours. Some desync issues can be corrected by logging out the sever and then back in. But when things get stuck in containers or car trucks the only fix is to reset the server. If you have the server time persistence on and the server restarts the time in game will be what it was at the time of server restart. If you do not have it on it will reset the time to morning. Not sure of the time but around 7am ish. To sync your server to real time is hard. Even tho a server restarts it's not always on time. It could restart 5 mins after it was supposed too. Then it takes a few mins to restart to the timed keep drifting. But make sure you delete the automated task server restart.
