So downloaded Ark on my PC from Microsoft, but I am trying to figure out if I have to get the XBOX server or the PC server. Anyone have a clue? I couldn't find anything saying if I had to or not.

If you're looking to be able to play on Xbox and PC(windows 10 version only) you need to purchase the xbox server. This can only be purchased on the Nitrado app via the xbox one or the nitrado app via Microsoft store make sure crossplay is enabled. This will allow you to play with xbox players and windows 10 ark players.
The PC version of ark is only compatible with the steam version.

Not to hijack this thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new one:
Is it possible to have "Cross Play" (Xbox One - Microsoft Version on PC) and "Cross Ark" (Multiple Maps in Cluster) and if so how many maps can be setup at one time?

Each server can only have 1 map active at a time. As for clustering I have seen around 10-12 servers CrossARK. Just cant CrossARK PC with consoles.

It can only be the windows 10 version of ark that can crossplay with xbox. Does get a little confusing

As a follow up question in the following scenario all players would be able to connect and play?
Crossarked Servers as follows:
1 Xbox Server - SE Map
1 Xbox Server - The Center Map
1 Xbox Server - Extinction Map
1 Xbox Server - Aberration Map
Crossplay Enabled on Each Server therefore any one on (Xbox) ARK and anyone on (Windows 10 Version) of ARK could play at the same time on any of the servers.
Sorry if it seams like I am beating a dead horse but this would help clear things up as I have not found this spelled out definitively anywhere else.
