Switch Ark Admin

for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

    My post was deleted when the admin was deleting the spam posts I guess so here it is again:


    Switch isn't an option as a platform so I was forced to choose the wrong one when creating this thread. The recent Ark Switch update removed console access from non admin players on multiplayer and the only way that I know how to give admin access is using the console. I tried enabling RCON but either it doesn't work or a firewall is blocking port 27020 on the server.


    How do we give admin access to players? I'm wondering if either allowing RCON (or opening the port on the server) or giving us a whitelist file would be a quick fix.

    The patch that broke all admin access for Ark Switch server owners came out last Friday and we still haven't even heard a response on when we can expect a fix or if there are even plans on fixing it at all. I understand the community isn't as big as the PC/Steam community but when you start making servers available on any game/platform, you must know that you have to be able to support the services you're providing. Chat reps didn't have any information on this and after spending way too much time waiting on responses, the only thing I got was that they would forward the information to someone else. I understand fixes take time but the lack of communication is very disappointing. I've heard Nitrado support is hit or miss and it's very discouraging to see the miss side first hand.


    Should we be expecting a fix or is admin access to the server not going to be possible? From what I've read on other platforms, it's possible to create a 'whitelist' file with admin names entered in. If this is the case, could you create that file and make it available on the web console similar to how the Game.ini and other files are shown now? Does RCON work on Switch servers? If neither of these would work, could someone at least say as much... or say anything?
