Trying to mod my server for my friends

Dear forum members,
for some time now we have been creating and maintaining new ways to help game server admins with questions and problems as quickly as possible, e.g. our Guides section and the Nitrado Community Discord.

  • Thanks. I'm having to look up how to do that but, hypothetically, if I got all these things to run just fine on my test server would I be able to just copy over the files from the test server onto the Nitrado server and boot it up that way?

  • in theory yes.thats prety much what ive done and it runs fine on my own pc,unfortunately some of the file structure seems to be different though between mine and the server setup.

    the only thing I cant seem to find is the server profile folder where all the configs for the mods are saved.

    normally its G:\Documents\DayZ\Users\Server

    but the server doesnt seem to have this directory so im lost also.

    For this one have you tried creating the directory you need?

  • its kinda sorted,it created a config file when it started earlier in the dayz server root folder,now it seems to be buggered again in an infinate loop boot with no life in sight,I guess they are still working on them :(

  • Alright, Man. I've been doing really well using a local server to get my start.batch, init c, cfgspawnabletypes.xml and serverDZ.cfg files all tuned in the way I would want them when we get the server up and running. Now it's time to add mods. The trouble is that the launcher seems to respond to mod names but Steam saves mods as a folder under 221100 with names like 1564026768 instead of "Unlimited_Stamina" so when I put them in the batch as @1564026768 instead of @Unlimited_Stamina it doesn't recognize them or something so I can't even load into the server.

  • use dayz launcher to locate the mods,then they will have names like normal.

    also try to bracket your mods like this,""

    "[email protected];@Dabs Framework;@DayZ-Expansion-Bundle;@DayZ-Expansion-Licensed;@Server_Information_Panel"

    then you wont have to worry about gaps inbetween the words.

  • Cool. After 5 days of coding and making sure everything is going to work fine and it does on my personal server I port everything over and now "There's something wrong with your server. We've already been alerted and" blah blah blah. Basically that I'm going to find out that I'm wasting my time cause they're gonna uninstall all my mods.

  • Well it was running and then it just stopped. This is extremely irritating because I know that I had everything working right when I used that program to port it all over and replace what was on the server. So I don't understand what is going on with this stupid thing. Isn't there any actual customer support in these forums are we just thrown to the wolves and expected to help each other?


    (Update: Now I've got it to where it just won't connect but the server seems to be running and stay running. Not sure what's going on at this point and need something other than "remove mods" for an answer if a Nitrado employee ever shows up to help.


    Update 2: Whenever I try to connect the server crashes or something. It acts like I just shut it off.)
