Ark Server - Restarting, Not found, unable to restart

  • Problems appear to develop first with the game failing to perform a world save. I have notice that they will stop at a certain point. At that time, the ability to communicate with some part of Ark appears to stop. The CP no longer shows useful/valid info and appears to have no real connection to the running instance of the game.


    You can stop the server from the CP, but it does nothing...game keeps running(still in the session list). If you can connect, doing a Cheat SaveWorld does nothing. Also tried a Cheat DoExit, which will eventually drop you from the server, but it stays running. Sometimes, you can continue to be able to reconnect after that.


    Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to just kill the process, which is what is keeping a restart from happening. The only success I had was to do a full reinstall, which seemed to give me a new IP address, or just let it set for a very, very long time, and then some sort of divine intervention eventually happens; of course, those are many hours of lost play time.


    I am experimenting with a server backup recovery, but that, so far, is just dragging on...and the server still shows in the session list. (update) But that only seems to restore the files(after deleting everything....so make sure you backup recent files, just in case) and does not force the game to stop while this is happening. So, another failure.


    To limit role backs, I do backup all of the recent data and once I finally get to a point where I can start the server, I unzip what appears to be a good save and place it on the server in place of the older .ark file (just in case). Since you cannot correctly shut down the server, the .ark file will be whatever it was at the last restart. There are other ways to do this, but it is the method I use for now, since it is working for me. I think this is helpful when waiting for the divine intervention, so that you can ensure the server starts with the file you want to use when you are not present.


    Of course, none of that matters if you cannot get to the point of doing a restart.


    Sadly, I have lost hours and days of time on this (worse when it is one of the few days I have for playing). And, even trying to reach Nitrado by phone just gets you a 20 minute wait to leave some info. I just want someone to stop the game instance and I can handle it from there.

  • i wish i knew about the problem with the servers, i brought one at midnight and it crashed 20min or so ago and i cant get it back up. I can see posts about this and people having this issue for a week, are they actually doing something about this problem? I feel like ive wasted my money

  • My server has been stuck for like 24 hours now. Support that is suppose to be "24" hour support does not pickup i have sat in a que for 20 minutes 3 times and all times has ended with me being disconnected.
    The wierdest things is the server still works for some people, and they can play but as soon as i connect it crashes within 5 minutes, but on the dashboard its just stuck on restart.

    I thought i was gonna give Nitrado a second chance, but honestly this is a Fing joke, like why would i pay you anything when you cant even have your support avilable at the promised times? How are you even allowed to continue your business?

    WElp my solution was to try and upgrade the server and see if we get a new server install with moving the save file it might work. I am obviously gonna ask for a refund from Nitrado once someone actually answears the phone.
    I'll post here if it ends up working :)

  • I do agree on the fact that Nitrado could actually be a bit more pro active in keeping us posted..


    We've rented the server like 10 days ago.. and are struggling since the 12th (so 6 days when posting) with it.. we can't seem to be online without disconnecting/ timing out or anything for over 15 minutes...


    Really don't see what we can do to correct this.. but it does really suck.. really considering our options for the server... going somewhere else seems to be the best solution if it's not resolved sorta quickly OR if Nitrado is not reacting on any message about it...

  • Hi, seems like NITRADO and ARK is totally destroyed now. My server does not work since 18.4. 08:00am again. Also I am not able to login to administration, there is message {"status":"error","message":"No state provided. Please read the API documentation before proceeding."}


    I leaved nitrado and buyed new server in another company.

  • Hi am new. And a player not a server owner. yet!
    The restart issue and not able to join a server and the lost connection error minutes later if you where lucky enough to join your server.

    Many are having these issues, as we all know. The one common theme is not knowing what has been done about it. Other than "working on it" by Nitrado, or pasting the same reply about "steps to take" to try and get your server up, which does not help, and only adds to the growing frustration. Nitrado needs to communicate with server owners what is actually going on and the efforts to fix these issue. Being kept in the dark is not helping Nitrado or server owners.

    Last update was 12th, doesn't look like it's going to be fixed so might just have to change company :/

    I have been waiting since the 9th of April. It came back up for about a day then crashed and stuck restarting once again, nothing. I have never seen it this bad.

  • 10 ark servers all having the loop /login issues...

    Now one has corrupted the data, do I dare attempt a restore while the servers are all messed up.... fml

    Guess I can just shut them all down until they get their servers fixed. Refunds... hahaha yeah I know...
    In the mean time, i'll shop around a bit...

  • I am having the same issues. It's been spotty, sometimes it has been fine and has allowed me to join, but other times it will not start and remains in the feedback loop. Trying to be patient, I understand that NITRADO is working on a solution, but does anyone have any sort of temporary fixes? Had a friend spend a day downloading ARK to play it with us and he's very disappointed that our server isn't up.


    All I can do with my server is force stop it. This has been happening for a while, I believe more than a week, but I don't have an exact number.

    1. It's been three days since this situation happened, and my friends and I still can't play ARK. Before the situation happened, my friends and I were still discussing whether to increase the rate and upgrade the equipment of the server.

    With all due respect, how does this help? A few others such as myself are looking for an official update and the Nitrado Status Twitter hasn't been updated in five days.....

  • Same here, though I was lucky enough to not be affected by it for several days even after the announcement appeared. Since last thursday, servers have been pretty much unusable for us too though, only support reply was a polite but rather unhelpful message that said the same as the official statement, they are aware of it and supposedly working on it. No ETA for a fix, no temporary solution, no explanation for how something like this can even happen for so long and on such a scale.

    I am not blaming the poor support guys for it either, they likely did not get told anything and are currently facing many rightfully angry customers despite it not being their fault that everything is messed up. All I am saying is that with how this company handles things, I really regret getting a server here to begin with and will likely move on to another host tomorrow if there is still no actual news (suggestions for other, reliable hosts are welcome btw), even if I have to cut my losses financially since I somehow doubt that getting a refund for the remaining time is going to be realistic.
