New server not accessable

  • I've used nitrado a few times to host empyrion. In most of the times I recall when I setup a new server it becomes available very quickly, but I'm always having problems connecting. It is up in minutes after I set it up. I go in and setup my configuration files and I restart the server.


    Everything generally looks fine although the logs only show that it was restarted no real details. So assuming everything is working I try to start the game and connect. For this I get an error. From the client logs it will say;


    20-19:37:20.465 15_37 -ERR- No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.


    So I've also tried telneting and doing an nmap ping non the port with tcp & udp. I can't connect and nmap says the port is filtered (firewalled).


    In the past I've put in a ticket and in a day or so I get a reply that it is fixed and everything works.


    So my question is, is this normal for activating a new server? Do I need to put in a ticket or will the port open up after awhile? If so how long is normal?

  • This is not normal and it usually works within 15 minutes after ordering the server. But sometimes there can be a problem which the system can not fix on its own. Therefore you have to create a support ticket to have the staff look at it.

  • Thank you for the reply. Glad to know that it shouldn't be a regular issue although it is distressing that over the last couple years I seem to have it routinely... Do you think it could be because I'm ordering the minimal server size? Should I tried to increase the size of the server?


    It does seem like it could be some other issue. I have tried reinstalling the server but that didn't help. I do seem to have the issue that was mentioned earlier. In that when I start the server it doesn't seem to do anything. Meaning I can't find any logs or anything that appears to be changing in the directories. It has been like a year since I ran a server but I do remember there being logs I could look at to find server problems.


    The general restart log shows the following;


    Sun Jul 21 14:35:43 EDT 2019 empyrion Restarted ni1253208_1 more than 10 times in a row. There seems to be something very wrong. Stopping it...


    I did put in a ticket yesterday and am waiting to for some sort of resolution.

  • I'm sorry, but i can not help you any further. I do not own the game nor do mods here in the forum have access to your service.

    I don't think its the minimal configuration of the server. It is true, servers with a higher slot count will get more ressources allocated but even servers with the minimum of slots should start without any problems.


    Unfortunately you have to wait for the answer of the ticket. Tickes are processed in the order they are received. You can try to call and see if you can speed up the process but i can't promise anything.
