  • I have reported an issue with the TELNET service. I am finding it saves the game every hour or so and forces a server restart. It's worth looking at the automated server tasks, deleting the one that is there, and then redoing one for once every 24 hours. I will update the TELNET restart issue once I get an answer :) So it's an issue with the auto-save service.

  • I have the same issue. It runs the shutdown command everytime it saves.

  • In the Nitrado Web interface there is the "Switch Game" option at the bottom left. There you can see what is installed and active.

    The Support advised us to switch from the experimental to the stable version (both versions: Alpha 20 b238), so we did. We exported the game settings via the Nitrado web interface, backed up the savegame and the mods via FTP, switched the server to the stable version, imported the settings again and restored the savegame & mods via FTP. That was yesterday at around 6:30 p.m. Since then the server has been running without unwanted restarts.


    The savegame looks compatible, after several hours of play we wouldn't have noticed anything special.

  • Same thing is happening to me, support has managed to keep it running at least 1 hour at a time, when it works. .maybe 2.

    The last comment from them was that i had to understand that 7d2d was an experimental version and it's expected.

    I understand that other vendors are also having this issue, so even if i'm a bit upset/disappointed, i have to honestly say they did try to make it as stable as possible with what they had to work with.

    Hopefully the developers will come out with fix to this major issue soon.

    with us it was certainly a telnet problem.

  • We did shut down the Telnet too, but stability hasn't improved very much. We're gonna switch to stable branch after backing up serverconfig.xml and everything in the SAVES folder and see what happens.

    Basicaly the server is made public and some time later it just shuts down. This happens several times a day. Sometimes the shutdown request is logged into the restart logs, sometimes not.

    If you are still having issues, some basic things to do:

    (1) Restart the server. If is hangs, about 5-10m a button appears to forcestop, then restart.

    (2) Check out the server logs.

    (3) If this is a new server, try a reinstall. *note: sometimes this happens after a game update.

    (4) If all the above fails, please contact Nitrado Support to further investigate. If you already have please continue to be patient. We are unable to assist you here in the forums.

    Moderators have no access to servers or accounts. We are volunteers and able to share experiences just like the rest as this is a Community Support Forum for Gamers and Admins just like you and I.

    We got the same reply: "Deal with it, it is experimental and a bug with the game, not the fault of the servers."

    Strangely enough, we switched to another provider and did not have a single crash or lag spike with PREGEN8K after now over 50 ingame days with 4 players. With Nitrado, we had multiple crashes per session as described here.


    It seems there is more to it, maybe related to the HW or the way server ressources are allocated. But the claim that this is just how alpha 20 is, is wrong! I cannot say why other providers manage to provide a stable game and how the architecture of their infrastructure is different to Nitrados approach, so I cannot judge if this is really a bug with the game or a problem with configuration. But I can say that it is possible to run a stable dedicated server for alpha 20 and these crashed are NOT normal.

  • The odd thing I find with Nitrado is that the main solution for them seems to be "move you to another server" , aren't all the servers configured the same?

    I was switched to 3 servers before it was able to stay connect for more than an hour in experimental mode, maybe the hardware is old and can't handle the video requirements.

    At this stage, all you can do is hope for the best, or like you did.. switch to another provider and pray the problems doesn't start all over again.

  • i have the server for 2 days now and it suddenly kicked me and my friend,

    after that we tried connecting again but it wouldn't let us, so we tried restarting but that

    didn't help eighter please help;(,


    (also tried force stop and Restart)


    Problem resolved took 20 minutes to restart

  • here I am again:(, i managed to play for about 2/3 hours before the server crashed again,

    each time i tried to restart it it will get stuck and i get this message

    Warning : The game server is neither started or stopped for some time. If this state is not intended, you can force start or stop the game server.


    i have tried force stopping it and once i restarts the problem arises again

    even force starting isent working


    i have this server for 2 days now and i would like a refund,
