Which custom file you mean?
-
When adding your own configuration files for DayZ, please place them into the subfolder named "custom" within the respective mission folder. Files added in other places will be ignored.
This is the new prompt I am also receiving on my nitrado server. Is this going to be a new file for uploading custom XML files such as types, events, etc? -
Hi the custom folder is for the Object Spawner feature which came with 1.15.
You need to put your Spawn file for example (myspawns.json) in it.
Make sure to tick "Enable cfggameplay.json" in the server interface and link your file in the cfggameplay.json by adding the path to your file.
For example "objectSpawnersArr": [custom/myspawns.json]
Check this for more infos.

Can we have a sample file placed so we can actually view what it should look like please, I like some people are better with a visual better then the one given above it makes little to no sense to me honestly, I did check the link above that you supplied. However without viewing a sample of what it should look like it seems confusing to me. Thanks in advance,

I recommend DayZ Editor, so you can place your objects and export them to the needed file.

Where do I put custom event files, do I put them into custom files?

You talk about events? custom events also go in events.xml
