How can I update our Valheim server to the latest new patch? Or is it updated automatically on server restart? I couldn't find anything about this in the FAQ or Forums.

Hello,
You can set in the WebUI and more control when an update applies.
"Auto restart on update" (uncheck it).
Keep in mind if it is a major update or say a security one it will probably force an update.
Its to protect all customers.

I suspect because this is an Early Access game not all the 'standard' web options are not available. If you do not see it, then it has not been added. And Mods would not know when it might be added. With EA games things are gradually added/developed.

I have the same question. I don't see any setting pertaining to updates or even how to tell what version the Valheim server is currently running in the Web Console.
Tried the info command from the 'live server console' page but no commands seem to do anything.

Is there at least a way to trigger the update of the server? As it is an EA game, there are constantly updates for client and server sides, with new features and fixes added constantly. As things stand i can't even find what the version of my server is at the present moment. I ran an ARK server prior to Valheim and there at least i knew the version as i could add the server to favorites, as well as the server updates arrived to Nitrado within a few hours.
For Valheim, do i need to re-install the server and hope that i will get the new version every time there is an update?

As this is an EA game, features will be added as time goes on. Typically the version will appear in the topleft corner of the servers WebUI under its IP.
Appears atm this is not available for Valheim.

I haven't found a game version in the files yet. The best is the /valheim/steamapps/appmanifest_896660.acf file. But the info is not really obvious.
You can compare the build ID to the build ID from the following webpage:
Valheim Dedicated Server · AppID: 896660 · SteamDB
If it matches, you know your server is up to date.
For me a simple restart has applied the update.

So I did a restart but it's just not restating it's been a while now too, I also get a error message
Hostsystem not ready or offline please try again later, I bought this server almost 6hrs ago and haven't got on yet
