  • Hi all,

Looking for a bit of advice, I play on an OC cluster in ark survival evolved and the cluster has been getting consistently dossed/ddossed over the last few days.

I'm pretty sure it's just a basic UDP flood but it's enough to keep anyone from connecting to the server. As of right now it has been unplayable for the last 14 hours straight.

Is there any way to stop this? Mitigating network traffic from a particular ip? Using a service like cloudflare? I'm not sure and I'm hoping someone may have an idea.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Offer Ddos protection to XBOX ark servers!!!! We are sick of not having any help and told that it is the settings we use.

Also please stop deleting my post because Nitrado do not want bad publicity.

FIX YOUR SERVERS INSTEAD OF TAKING OUR MONEY AND OFFERING ZERO SUPPORT.

Here is an answer to my ticket asking for help. :/ We all know its absolute garbage, what sort of support is this?

    Q. Servers are being dossed looking for any help pls

    [2:34 PM]
    A. Hello, Thank you for your support request.

We've checked your server settings, you have set TamingSpeedMultiplier=999, we
strongly recommend staying as close as possible to default but if you really
want to set it high we recommend going as far as 50, and even 50 can impact
    performance on the server.

You may be experiencing heavy stutterings, lag, random restarts, or even a
complete stop in the server. If you use the General Settings some
configurations have a small symbol indicating that those are critical
parameters that may impact the server, however, in expert settings nothing is
    displayed.

The below is the protection offered. Yet we can clearly see that this below protection is a load of crap... Why are we being lied to, why is it taking so long to resolved, why can't you offer a better Ddos protection?

Nitrado state "Having a DDoS protection is nothing special. What counts is to offer one that actually works" Yeah it doesn't work btw!

    DDoS Protection

Having a DDoS protection is nothing special. What counts is to offer one that actually works.

Our in-house networking expertise allows us to employ a three-layered approach to DDoS protection, combining different techniques to achieve the maximum effect.

    • Firstly, our partnerships with Internet Service Providers and our broad network ensure that our connections aren’t “clogged up” by high incoming traffic. Also, many large-scale attacks don’t even reach our networks, as they’re filtered beforehand by our partner companies.
    • Secondly, we use hardware appliances on the edge of our network, that scan the incoming traffic, detect attacks and block them, leaving the legitimate traffic unharmed.
    • Thirdly, we work directly with game developers to employ measures that are specifically tailored towards the games we run. Instead of just relying on off-the-shelf solutions, we deeply analyze and understand the network traffic of our games and can therefor distinguish incoming attacks from legitimate traffic.

These measures combined result in a stable network that is resilient against any type of DDoS attack.

This is the apparent protection offered here Data Centers | nitrado.net

    My previous post was;

It's rather apparent that rented Xbox ark servers from Nitrado have zero protection when it come the Ddos attacks. Owning your own cluster is something to be proud of, which consumes many personal hours with script coding and promotion. This is all ruined by Ddos attacks which literally closed down my Ark Xbox cluster.

Yes, the player base of ark in general is toxic however, these days on Xbox Ark Nitrado servers you will expect to be sat in a sat on 255 server ping. This would most likely be the outcome when players are banned on your cluster as they deem it unfair they got caught Ddosing or using hacks in retaliation your cluster will be Ddosed for weeks killing the cluster. Meanwhile, wildcard have fixed and added protection to official servers, leaving Nitrado 'the biggest ark game server rental company' seriously slacking.

I personally had tickets submitted for 7 days asking for help, in fact we were begging Nitrado to help with the Ddosing attacks which was killing our cluster. However, Nitrado could not offer any such protection and offered a server IP change instead and blamed the lag on the server settings. Once the server IP was changed it took a whole 50 seconds for the attackers to pull the new IP address and Ddos the server.... yet another successful fix from Nitrado.

We ask support when we would see Ddos protection and again no formal reply to the ticket, so we closed down the cluster as it was just a waste of money and now it seems the majority of Xbox Ark servers are attacked on the daily, especially on release/wipe day.

The current state of Xbox Ark Nitrado servers in my opinion are just toxic and unplayable, most cluster owners are held to ransom, typically having to pay the attackers to stop Ddos attacks and then most likely to close down the cluster due to the bad reputation it has for Ddosing.

People are making money had over foot selling Ddosing tools/plans on websites just to Ddos Nitrado Ark servers, and the people who are left punished are cluster owners and the legit player base. Protection needs to be put into place or even offered at extra cost to Xbox ark servers ASAP.

Is Ddos protection too much to ask for:cursing:??? It certainly seems that way... You even state "Having a DDoS protection is nothing special. What counts is to offer one that actually works" Yeah its doesn't work btw!

    My questions are, if someone at Nitrado would kindly answer;

    1) When will Xbox Ark Nitrado servers have Ddos protection?

    2) Is there any Ddos protection offered currently, why can we not pay extra for protection?

    3) Why is it taking so long for Nitrado to do something about the constant attacks to their game servers?

    4) Why do we get nothing but bulls##t are ignored on support tickets when asking for help with regards to Ddos attacks.

  • What a joke imagine them deleting your posts 😂 sat there like oh no we need to hide this before people see it and agree how embarrassing for them 😂😂 they need to sort it out waste of time and money what a joke of a company

  • Agreed, you have my backing on this. I already made a post myself to try and instigate some sort of action to implement Ddos protection from Nitrado. I'm sure they will do nothing. The protection they say does not work at all and its just a scam.

  • All clusters get hitted, and us, owners, can’t do anything about it. We’re just waiting since months now to get a DDoS protection from Nitrado. But pretty sure Ark will be dead before we can get one lol

Yerp, its so sad to see console ark in this state where most clusters are sat at 255 ping. Its been going on for years but in recent months its legit every other person Ddosing.

  • Nitrado Partner - DOOM + Nitrado Partner - TGG (PS4)

    17 Maps + 8 Maps

    13 70 Slots , 3 50 Slots , 1 10Slots / 5 70 Slots, 3 50 Slots

I experienced so far every season ddos , not just on few Maps im speaking about the half Cluster sometimes even the whole Cluster.

I personally lost my Motivation to host Servers because of this Ddos Issues i would atleast want to know when we get the new Update.

In my Opinion it would benefit us all nitrado would make more profit and spent less Time on helping with ddosed Maps/crashed Maps and we could run our Servers without ddos and spare a lot of Stress and keep our Community happy.

Right now the Ddos Methods getting into the wrong Hands little Kids are ddosing because of not getting a extra Pack from the Owner or Role , they are ddosing because of not getting their favourite Spot ingame and we Owners are sitting at Home without having the Chance to control that , we can report it to nitrado but not more.

We pay a lot of Money for the Servers we expect good Protection because we are not able to host/run Servers like this.

Atleast please give us Information about the new Update !

  • The #TLW community has experienced the same issues as mentioned above.

Countless times I have contacted Nitrado regarding the constant DDoS attacks and the only response I get is "We're sorry, but we're working on future improvements".

We shouldn't have to pay full price for a service that doesn't operate correctly... Nitrado sells itself as a premium product and doesn't deliver.

Unfortunately, they don't have any competition in the console hosting space so they don't have any incentive to improve until their customer base gets tired of it. We are paying upwards of $600 a month for a faulty product.

I believe they should at least cut their prices in half until they can provide a working product.

Nitrado should be working harder to keep their market share because right now all it's going to take is a competitor to put out a working product and all of these larger ark hosters will jump ship.

We really do hope this gets to the correct people and they can put in the effort required to improve the relationship between Nitrado and our communities.

We all want the same thing... A DDoS free enviorment.

I can guarantee it will make you more money Nitrado!

    Thank you!

  • I have always been pleased with what has been provided. Any time I thought I had a ddos issue support explained when is already in place. They have hardware and software as a prevention. They explained they have more than just a few customers to protect. They reminded me they are a webhosting company as well. So it seems things are good for the moment. It was suggested that depending what game is being used, that game has certain specifications within the game that should be used within those limits. I asked what that meant. It was suggested as to not use ridiculous boosts in the game. I gave that a try and made a difference. Been great.

Its very different on console playing Ark Survival. There are free scripts out right now which anyone can send Ddos attacks from their home routers to Nitrado servers causing the server to be 255 ping and unplayable. You can't even loads into the servers, and this is just the free tools, the paid plans that are offered are even worse. They are ran 24/7 until your cluster population has been killed off and then closed down.

Its as simple as click a button to DDoS console Nitrado servers.

This is why I started the thread as we need action to fight back against the DDoS attacks.
