Merging Two Different Servers

Hello,

My friend has been hosting an Island server through Nitrado for about a month now, and we want to expand the server to allow transferring back and forth to another map. Would I be able to host a separate server through Nitrado from my xbox with a different map, and then we merge into a cluster to allow for the transferring of dinos, characters, progress etc. at will, and if so will it save our progress from his server when we merge so we don't have to reset the whole server.

Hello

Yes you can cluster the two servers together. One of you just needs to make the cluster ID and send it to the other person. They thing add the ID save and restart the server. Make sure you have the correct crossark settings as well. Downloading, uploading of dinos, items and characters stuff like that.

If you just set the servers up as a cluster there is no loss of progress between the two. I play on a friend's cluster with 4 servers. We jump from server to server whenever we feel like.

We currently have the server password protected so randos can't join. Can we keep that or will it need to be open?

You would need to take the password off when you cluster. The password causes a lot of unwanted issues.
