Nitrado ticket response time is atrocious.
One of my servers is suddenly crashing. What are the steps for a reinstall that won't result in gameplay/character loss? Nothing in the wiki.

Sorry you are having issues. Several posts actually cover this in great detail, and I have typed.
First thing to do is FTP, download the entire ARK folder from the server to your PC.
Now you have a full back up.
Now do the web reinstall link. Get a server back up. Set the ini stuff, get the mod IDs loaded. Basically get your server to where it was before.
Then go to the wiki and go backwards from the backup. (*when server is reinstalled, and pre-config ready shut it down. Now you can do game file transfer). You will need the map file, profile and tribe info. You will see how it looks in the download. I know, I am typing not much fast. Only cause it already exists. Once you get the game files back (ONLY the 3), save, then restart server. I do this 100s of times now with mine over the years.

When you do a reinstall it may hop to another to another IP. When it loads up it has SW that detects if server resources are needed and hops. If you have a few mods, you may need to wait a while. Just recently I did what you did with 26 mods. Took 2 hrs to finally get settled. It due to the mods loading.

Well, one of the Nitrado techs NUKED the trouble server before asking me. I just hope I got the saved files in time to attempt a restore.

Just some admin advice...
Get used to copying all your server files at least 1x a month. I do every week. I had to in order to prevent server wipes. ARK still has random issues at times.
And if you are not doing this yet, used the "Configuration Profiles". It make a copy of your game, and gus ini.

Can you by chance tell me how long the reinstall takes? Trying to run one now and its taking forever.

Depending on the mods you have. Its why you do a few mods at a time.

Only mod I have is the structure plus / ragnarok map

S+ may actually take a while. Plus ARKs network from WC is being prepared to be update which could affect this.
Give it no more than 30m. If it still fails try a reinstall of the server.
If it continues to have issues you probably should start a new thread as this thread was already resolved.
